A Doctor's Struggle to Get Tested for COVID-19
Dr. Claudia Bahorik, a physician in Pennsylvania has the symptoms of COVID-19 and her family doctor tried to have her tested but failed to get approval from the Pennsylvania Department of Health on 10 March 2020. Five days later, on 15 March, feeling weak and very ill, she drove to a testing center and was denied again. A former doctor in the US Army Reserve, she contacted the VA Hospital but was denied again but was told they did not have testing kits. On 17 March she went to an emergency room where she is tested, sent home, and told to wait 3 to 5 days for the result. After 5 days, on 23 March, she was told the test results are delayed because labs are overwhelmed. Source: BBC News.
